Interest Calculator Hub is a free resource that helps people calculate interest correctly and understand what the numbers mean.
Our mission
Interest decides how fast savings grow and how expensive borrowing is, yet the formulas behind it are rarely explained clearly. We build accurate, easy-to-use calculators and pair each one with a plain-English explanation of the formula, a worked example and its limitations — so you can check the answer for yourself instead of trusting a black box.
What we offer
- Calculators for simple interest, compound interest at every common frequency, regular contributions, interest rates, principal, time periods, monthly interest, investment growth and doubling time.
- Step-by-step breakdowns that substitute your numbers into the formula.
- Charts and year-by-year tables you can copy or download as CSV.
- Guides that explain interest concepts for students, savers and anyone making a financial decision.
How the calculators work
All calculations run in your web browser using standard financial formulas. Your numbers are not sent to our server and are not stored. Results are rounded only when they are displayed.
How we check accuracy
The calculation engine is tested against textbook examples and against an independent, period-by-period simulation written separately from the formulas. Tests cover zero interest, fractional periods, every compounding frequency, very small and very large amounts, and invalid inputs. When we find a problem, we fix it and update the affected pages.
